National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva has met with the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) Asaf Hadjiyev. The chairman of the Committee on Agriculture in the parliament of Azerbaijan, Eldar Ibrahimov, took part in the meeting. Opportunities for enhancement of the economic partnership and the realization of important for the two countries energy projects were among the topics discussed during the talks.
Tsetska Tsacheva praised the active work of the Bulgarian delegation to PABSEC. She pointed to the key role played by Bulgaria in the Assembly aimed at better parliamentary and regional interaction.
The Secretary General of PABSEC, Asaf Hadjiyev, confirmed the excellent relations between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan. He noted that Bulgaria was a reliable partner of particular importance to Azerbaijan. He expressed gratitude for the support received by Bulgarian lawmakers on various issues discussed at PABSEC’s meetings.
The head of the Bulgarian parliament, Tsetska Tsacheva, expressed confidence that the Agreement for Strategic Partnership between the two countries, signed during the visit of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliev, earlier this year, will lead to more tangible results. She stressed that both countries were maintaining a friendly dialogue at high political level in the fields of economy, energy diversification, tourism, education and culture - areas that are yet to unveil their potential for the benefit of the citizens of the two countries.
At the meeting, the chairperson of the National Assembly reiterated her invitation to the Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament, Oktay Sabir Assadov, to pay an official visit to Bulgaria.
