The European Commission’s report on Bulgaria’s progress was presented at the National Assembly
The Head of the European Commission's Delegation in Bulgaria Dimitris Kourkoulas delivered the Commission’s regular report on Bulgaria’s progress towards EU accession for 2003 to the President of the National Assembly Prof. Ognian Gerdjikov.
“We are going to support Bulgaria’s efforts to conclude the process of negotiations in 2004 and to become a EU member in 2007,” said Mr. Kourkoulas in the course of the meeting with Prof. Gerdjikov. Bulgaria’s economic indicators are very positive and reconfirm the existence of a functioning market economy in your country, he added.
Later on, Mr. Kourkoulas presented the report before the National Assembly leadership, the floor leaders, the chairs of the standing committees and the members of the European Integration Committee.
