Parliament elects Dr. Stefan Konstantinov as the new Minister of Health

The National Assembly elected October 6, 2010 Dr. Stefan Konstantinov to replace Anna-Maria Borisova at the post of Health Minister. The nomination was made with the votes of 123 deputies. 58 MPs voted against and 12 abstained. Dr. Konstantinov was supported by the members of the GERB and Ataka parliamentary groups. The PG of Coalition for Bulgaria, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and the Independents voted against while the. Blue Coalition abstained. Following the vote, the new health minister was sworn in before the National Assembly.
Later on, the National Assembly has started to deliberate on the first no confidence vote against the GERB Government, moved by 76 members of the Coalition for Bulgaria and MRF parliamentary groups last Friday, on the grounds of its health care policies failure.
